Which kit do I need?

All 3 kits will repair and upgrade any Nissan Rogue heater box on model years from 2014 to 2020 and all years of the Nissan Rogue Sport (2017 to 2022). The differences are as follows:

Kit #1 has the patented gear and insert plus everything else needed to repair and upgrade your heater box. You will use the provisions in the kit to retrofit your motor and reuse it. So if you have a brand new blend door motor already, or you just want to save a little bit of money and retrofit your own motor, this is a great kit.

Kit #2 also includes the patented gear, insert, and everything else exactly the same as kit #1, except that it includes a brand new OEM Nissan blend door motor on top of everything else. The gear is pre-installed into the motor and ready to go. That means you can dispose of your existing blend door motor and skip the step in the instructions for retrofitting your blend door motor. The reason for this kit is to save a little time and hassle, and also allows you to start fresh with a new motor.

Kit # 3 is the same as kit #2 except that the included blend door motor is an extra-low-torque version. This motor only puts out about 5 inch lbs of torque vs. the 11 inch lbs of the standard OEM motor. There are two reasons for this kit. 1: If the blend door has been severely damaged, this can be a good option. Severe damage is defined as large pieces of the blend door bore missing so that it is no longer round. Or if the blend door bore has stripped out and enlarged the entire 19mm depth, not just the first 8 m,m correlating to the factory gear shaft engagement depth. Even in those cases, es you may not need this kit. Contact us for more information.

Are your kits in stock?

We have all the kits in stock at all times. If that changes, we will have it clearly marked on the website before you order.

How fast do you ship out? When will I see it if I order today?

We ship out every single weekday with a cutoff time of 2 pm. MST. If you are in a rush and past the deadline, give us a call. Typically, the free economy shipping takes 5 to 7 days. The two-day shipping is 2 to 3 days from when you order to when it arrives. We do have an overnight shipping option, which means you will see your order the next day.

Do I need the ELT (Extra Low Torque) kit?

The ELT kit is designed for severe damage. Severe damage is defined as a very stripped-out blend door bore down to the end, not just the first 8mm. It is also considered severe damage if any of the pieces of the blend door are missing or broken off. Even in those cases, you may not need this kit. Contact us for more information. Keep in mind that after installing the ELT kit, it is possible that the temperature may be hard to control between full hot and full cold. We have only had 2 complaints so far.

Mine is really stripped out badly. Will your kit fix it?

Yes! We have some special instructions for any severely damaged blend door. Email or call us, and we can walk you through the steps depending on what kind of severe damage you have.

Does the passenger side fail? How is the passenger side different? Do I need 2 kits?

No, the passenger side does not fail. It uses the same blend door motor but a different attachment using plastic connectors and an external blend door shaft, not a bore. The FAQ video for this question is very helpful in understanding.

What if there is glue in the blend door already? Or what if there has already been damage or modifications to the blend door in the past?

We can fix that. Contact us, and we can walk you through the process. It involves trying to pick out the adhesive, drilling, and or grinding with a small Dremel for stuck adhesive. Depending on the particular plastic mix adhesive can stick to the blend door bore. Especially if it is at the end of the bore. Other types of damage are repairable as well.

What is normal damage vs. severely damaged?

Normal damage is when the blend door bore is stripped out almost halfway down into the bore and rounded out. It will also be cracked, and there will be plastic shavings in and around the bore. The blend door is severely damaged if it is stripped out to the full depth of the bore. This occurs if other repair attempts have been made previously. It is also severely damaged if pieces are missing from the bore.

Can I install the kit in cold temperatures?

Yes. But keep in mind that the adhesive must be kept above freezing (32 fahrenheit) while curing, 24 hours minimum. Your garage or workspace just needs to be above freezing.

Is the heater box still serviceable, and can the dealer still work on the vehicle normally after this modification?

Yes This is not a modification that will interfere with the factory operation of the heating and AC system. With this repair kit, the motor is still removable, and you can still get the system serviced normally using Nissan parts.

All three Rogue Heater Box Repair Kits will fit any any generation 2 Nissan Rogue (Model years 2014 to 2020) or any Nissan Rogue Sport (all years).

The choice just comes down to preference!

Kit 1)  Rogue Heater Fix Kit: You will rebuild your existing blend door motor and save a little bit of money. Everything needed to perform the entire upgrade to your heater box is included in the kit.

Kit 2)  Rogue Heater Fix Kit. (with Preassembled Blend Door Motor): This kit is identical to Kit 1 except also includes a new Nissan blend door motor that is already rebuilt. Everything needed to perform the entire upgrade to your heater box is included in the kit.  This kit costs a little more but saves some time and makes the install a little easier.

Kit 3)  Rogue Heater Fix Kit. (with Preassembled Blend Door Motor Extra Low Torque Version): This kit is identical to Kit 2 except the new rebuilt blend door motor has an extra low torque output.  Everything needed to perform the entire upgrade to your heater box is included in the kit. This kit costs a little more but saves some time, makes the install a little easier and can save even the most destroyed heater box. Extra low torque means that the motor has less rotating force and therefore puts less pressure on the heater box and blend door motor.

There are only a few reasons to consider Kit 3:

1. If someone has tried to fix it themselves and has broken pieces of the blend door off in the process.

2. You just want some extra piece of mind. This kit will install exactly the same as the other kits and some people like the idea of an extra layer of caution.

If your heater box looks like this then that is normal failure and it is not necessary to use Kit 3. All product testing was performed with a factory torque motor and had no signs of failure at a simulated 50 to 75 years worth of vehicle operation.
